GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 353821
Should provide Right-Click->Format...
Last modified: 2010-05-28 00:13:03 UTC
Forwarded from https://launchpad.net/bugs/58205 GNOME uses 'nautilus' to display the file-managing part of the desktop; when a external (eg. USB) hard disk has been mounted on the desktop after insertion, there is no easy visible way to reformat the drive. Obvious places would be: Right Clicking on the drive on the desktop->Format... (eg. below Eject) Places->Computer->Right Click->Format... Administration->Disks

See http://live.gnome.org/gnome-format
I think we're going for nautilus-gdu [1] as an extension, rather than gnome-format. [1] http://fedorapeople.org/gitweb?p=tbzatek/public_git/nautilus-gdu.git;a=summary

Just for the record: http://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-disk-utility
This is OBSOLETE now that nautilus-gdu can do the trick.
