GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 353090
Personal Information window displayed no avatar picture
Last modified: 2006-09-20 04:44:39 UTC
When I choose an avatar in the personal information window the picture is displayed correct. I close the window with the save button. Now my avatar is displayed correctly in the message window during a chat. But when I look into my personal informations the avatar picture is not displayed.
I can't reproduce that. Which jabber server do you use ? can you reproduce this with other servers ?
Same here, works for me... are you sure it was with a released 0.15? Or some CVS version?
Created attachment 72392 [details] Screenshot for better understanding
Like you can see at attachment i use 0.15. The image is shown in the message window but not in the personal details window. I selected the picture for the avatar with gossip and only use gossip for jabber messenging. Where is the picture loaded from when I open an message window? From my jabber server or from local filesystem? Thanks for your help!! krischan =)
It is obtained from your VCard, it is not stored locally. What type of image is it? a PNG? Can other clients see this file? in their contact info dialog?
It is a not animated GIF and my contacts can see this picture during conversation and in their roster.
Could you try with a png just to see if it works? And could you attach the gif here so we can try? Or do you get that with any gif?
Created attachment 73026 [details] my avatar transparency gif My GIF has transparency effects. I tried it with an PNG with transparency too and all is working correctly. I tried an GIF without transparency and all is working too. It has something to do with the transparency. Btw. Gnome's personal information displayed my transparency GIF correctly!
Btw. animated GIFs will not displayed animated - only the first frame as fixed-image. Pandion 2.5 and Trillian (both under Windows XP) displayed this animated GIF correctly.
Thanks! Fixed in CVS. About animated gifs, I personally feel that it's a feature to not animate the avatars... that would be really annoying to have.
Ok, thanks for fixing! And about animated GIFs - I can live with no animations :)
