GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 351762
[Patch] Sidebar for gnome-control-center
Last modified: 2007-01-12 14:22:21 UTC
This patch adds a sidebar to gnome-control-center (yeah, i mean the app gnome-control-center!) which lists the entry categories to allow filtering of the shown preferences icon in the main view. Selected by default is the item "All"; if this is selected, the main view is the same as previously with gnome-control-center. When choosing a category from the list, only this category is shown. A feature that would be nice for the sidebar but currently not implemented is bookmarking of preferences items by dragging them in the sidebar. The bookmarks would be seperated from the category list entries through a separator, much like the sidebar of nautilus.

Thanks for the patch, we are now in feature freeze mode, so won't commit this to HEAD, and wait until we branch 2.16 and start with 2.17/2.18 development.
Ok, thanks for your reply. Please tell me about any concerns you have with the patch if you come around to it.
Marking as obsolete as the old control center is not used anymore.
