Description bojaren 2006-08-15 08:39:31 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Beagle fails to make thumbnails for files that have 2-byte characters in name at Search Result Bar.

Steps to reproduce:
1. make a picture file whose name is 2-byte character(I used Korean in
this case).
2. search the file that you have created in step 1.
3. see that thumbnails don't have preview of the file.

Actual results:
I can't see the preview of the picture's thumbnail in beagle's search result bar

Expected results:
Beagle can succeed in previewing the thumbnail of the picture that has
2-byte character in name.

Does this happen every time?
yes

Other information:
Beagle can't preview the thumbnail(in this case) and even eats CPU 95% when it fails to make preview of the file.
And, when i rename name of the file to English(e.g Alphabet), Beagle
succeed in making preview of the picture.

Generally speaking, filenames have to be UTF-8.

Can you attach a file which triggers the issue to the bug?

This file doesn't appear to have a 2 byte character in its name... it wants to save it simply as "input.jpg"
Comment 4 bojaren 2006-08-23 01:28:58 UTC
Have you tried(searched in nautilus search bar) the "input.jpg"? It doesn't have a 2-byte character in its name as you said. Although it is also cannot be searched via nautilus search bar. I'll upload 2-byte named file soon. Hope you will find a resolution. :)

/Still waiting for the 2-byte named file :)

I haven't heard anything about this in a while, and I'm pretty sure it would have been fixed with the URI escape fixes I did for 0.2.10.
