Description Ritesh Khadgaray ( irc:ritz) 2006-08-10 20:16:55 UTC
MS outlook on windows has a feature, where we can collapse mail view by sender. All mails from a sender is arranged in a thread under a user name.

MS Outlook also allows to collapse mail view by date ( old, yesterday, today ), and various other criterion .

These view are useful and improve the usability of Evolution mailer.

sounds a bit related to bug 325342 to me
Comment 2 Ritesh Khadgaray ( irc:ritz) 2006-08-11 12:31:39 UTC
Different bug. Would like a threaded view by sender and date.
all mails by a sender are arranged under a single thread.
w.r.t. date, they are arranged under different reads - recent, old, archived, ...

i believe bug #325342 has been resloved with 2.7.x release

hi ... i am now migrating everything i have to ubuntu 10 and saying goodbye to m$
I faced the same pain of not being able to group by sender - evolution 2.30.3, it is very useful if you have tens of senders and you have hundreds of emails for each sender ... i wonder why nobody gave it some attention since 2006

You forgot to attach your patch here. I'd be happy to review it.

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new enhancement request ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
