Description Søren Boll Overgaard 2006-08-08 21:15:23 UTC
Hello,

A Debian user reported (almost) the following at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=242947:

--- 8< ---

The Actions -> Groups menu needs a "Get new headers
and bodies in subscribed groups" option (the "and bodies" being the important
part). I leave pan running and would find this menu option extremely helpful.

--- 8< ---

I don't know if enough people would find this useful enough to warrant adding another entry to the menus. It's (obviously) your call.

A few people have asked for this feature to return in the new rewrites.
It's not uncommon to see that feature for offline newsreading.

As an aside, thanks for taking the time to push these reports upstream. :)

No problem.

If there is anything else I can do to help, let me know ...
Come to think of it, if you can spare the time to point me in the direction of a few reasonably-easy-to-fix bugs, and good starting points for looking for the bugs in the pan sources, I would be quite happy to start writing patches for some of the bugs I am submitting/forwardning.
Essentially, I've just been looking for a good place to start without having to take in all the code at once.

Hello

I'm cleaning up old Pan bug report in Debian. This feature request still makes sense. Would it be possible to add it in a future version of Pan ?

All the best
