GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 350496
have a hotkey for showing/hiding signatures in the article body.

Hello, A Debian user submitted the following bug at http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=245957: --- 8< --- I set signature color to white (on white), so that people's dumbass .sig blocks don't show up (unless I select the text in order to see it). However URLs in .sigs still show up, because they URL color overrides .sig color. I need to be able to not enable URL highlighting at all, or somehow have URLs be white (in sigs) but black or ordinary in ordinary blocks. --- 8< --- I am not sure I completely agree with the submitters suggestion. I think it would be cleaner, and more generally useful to have a hotkey for showing/hiding post signatures.
While reading the original report I was thinking the same thing you suggested -- cleaner just to toggle signature visability.
gnus and slrn both have the ability to hide signatures...
This problem has been fixed in our software repository. The fix will go into the next software release. Thank you for your bug report.
On behalf of the original Debian bug submitter: Cool, thanks :-)
