GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 350471
Deselecting all "list colums" options still display one column
Last modified: 2008-09-06 08:34:48 UTC
Changing the "list columns" preference to deselect all the columns (that is no columns are chosen to be listed) does not behave as expected. The last column to be deselected is still displayed. The list columns preference window shows all columns as deselected. Usually it is the last item (column) to be deselected that is displayed. Thanks for your bug report! It's yet another proof that users try out every possible weird switch. In this case, it's probably best to just disable the switch where it doesn't make sense and don't react when the user tries to press it. I don't want to molest translators with any form of error message in this very, very rare edge case.

Thanks Christian for your quick fix. This was tried out in a test run of students of the OSTL in Beijing - we were astounded by the bug reports as well. :-)
Christian, do you think we can get this in for 2.22? (or for 2.24 maybe)
I can't reproduce this in 2.22.3.
the issue seems to be fixed using the current intrepid GNOME version, closing the bug
