Last modified: 2011-02-04 16:10:38 UTC
Please describe the problem: I reported a bug in the XFCE bug tracker, and they've told me that this is probably a bug in gtk, so I'm reporting it here. Please see http://bugzilla.gnome.org/simple-bug-guide.cgi for details. Steps to reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
Well, that wasn't very clever - I pasted the wrong URL. Try this: http://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1945
Well, if emacs puts binary junk into a text property it is not gtk's fault. Look at gtk_selection_data_get_text(): We only try to convert something to utf8 if the sender claims that it is text...
I reported this to the Emacs list, and it seems to be on the way to being fixed: http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/emacs-pretest-bug/2006-09/msg00169.html
