Description Nir R 2006-07-14 07:05:28 UTC
Please describe the problem:
When writing in Hebrew in various application any pressing on the backspace (<-) key make the system behave like if pressed the Ctrl + backspace and log you off.
I run into this problem using Ubuntu 6.06.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Start a conversation using kopete or editing song information in Amarok.
2. change the keybord layout to Hebrew (using alt+shift).
3. Press the backspace key.

Actual results:
The session is logged out.

Expected results:
the character written will be erased

Does this happen every time?
yes

Other information:
I tested it only using ubuntu 6.06

I doubt this is related to GTK+; instead what is likely happening
is that your keyboard and X server are configured in such a way that the
backspace is triggering the X server "Kill Server" keybinding.
(This keybinding is Control-Alt-Backspace)

Please report this in Ubuntu bugzilla; they should be able to help
you track down what is happening and if appropriate, report the problem
to the right upstream project.
