Patch to move to gnome-doc-utils

I got bored.

Moves gthumb to g-d-u. Changes the blurb displayed in yelp to "gThumb is an image viewer and browser for the GNOME environment" - which is more descriptive.

Also fixes a (very minor) annoyance: The "Working With Folders" section takes up 3 lines in the left-pane of yelp. With this patch, it goes back to using only 1 line.

I suspect I may have added an m4 folder to CVS. Sorry. Really didn't mean to, just cvs is annoying.

Oops

Updated patch to add some changes I forgot to save.

Also added doc/Changelog and updated C version of the manual to validate properly.

The translations arn't updated and need to be done seperately.

Patch committed to CVS HEAD. Don, can you double-check it to confirm it works as expected?

Add Russian translation

In the doc directory, the Russian translation isn't migrated across to g-d-u (I don't think). If it's still relatively up-to-date (I don't know) and you want it installed, it needs to be moved across to g-d-u. Until that happens, this (trivial) patch should build and install it properly. The patch just makes the ru/Makefile get built and run during ./configure; make.
Comment 5 Michael Chudobiak 2006-11-03 15:56:47 UTC
Don,

Is that the only translation that isn't migrated? (I'm pretty ignorant of translation issues, sorry.)

If it is, I think we should just leave it broken so that someone will do a proper fix, rather than adding an obscure hack.

How do I request a proper fix of the Russian translation?

Its the only doc translation available. Alas, I don't speak Russian, so I don't know how up-to-date it is. Though, looking at it, it is using .sgml, which (I think) is really, really old. It's possibly better to leave it out for now.

There is a translation migration howto at http://live.gnome.org/GnomeDocUtilsTranslationMigration
Though, as the ru translation is in the form of an sgml file, this would be somewhat more work to do.

I don't know how to get anyone to update the translation proper. The doc translations have unfortunately been neglected for quite a long time now.
Comment 7 Michael Chudobiak 2006-11-06 19:15:33 UTC
The Russian translation is so old that it is probably useless. I will delete it, unless that's considered bad form...
