Goto Edit->Preferences->Mail Preference->automatic contacts.
Specify 'Personal' addressbook. Click on 'synchronize buddly list now'.
It doesnt unless evolution is restarted, tried even by clicking on 'clear'.

This is not duplicate of bug 338710, I already have fix for 338710. Staright fwd scenario, my local personal addressbook is empty. I want to add all contacts in gaim buddy list to my personal addressbook.

then i'd also like to have the fix for 338710. according to devashish it has been only applied to head, and you are running 2.6 but not 2.7. comments?

and what is the shell output?

to me this is still a duplicate.
