Description Volker Englisch 2006-05-26 03:28:25 UTC
The samples in the Date/Time tab of the preferences display the dates for the US, UK and Europe formats with a two digit year:
  US   07/31/05
  UK   31/07/05
  Eur  31.07.05

However, the actual display in the register lists the year with 4 digits
  US -->  7/31/2005
  UK --> 31/ 7/2005
  Eur--> 31. 7.2005

I'm running GC from SVN (R14152) on FC5.

You might want to adjust the samples to reflect the actual display.

This has been fixed recently in r14158 and r14180.
Thanks for the report.

I am right now looking at R14200 and it is still the same as in R14152.

If you'd like I can send a screen shot tonight.

I placed a screenshot of the preferences window here:
  http://kepler.englisch.us/~volker/G2_Testing/PrefDateTime.jpg

Here you can see the two digit year in the samples but the register displayes 4 digit year dates. At least for me. :-)

I read something about a screenshot, but could not find it afterwards. Now I have got the bug :)

I am sorry, I did not see the difference in the years. But you have to admit that the zero filling is correct now ;)

In my opinion the register behavior is correct, but the documentation string should be changed. As we are in string freeze, I guess this can wait until 2.0 is out. I have added the strings to http://wiki.gnucash.org/wiki/String_Freeze.

Will leave closed if you do not mind :)

Yes, that's what I was after. :-)

Oh sure, I forgot about the string freeze. Leave the bug closed. Since you already added the string change to the Wiki it won't get lost.
