Description Guillaume Desmottes 2006-05-21 16:58:41 UTC
Plugins marked as autoload are loaded when the first session is started. So if we launch x-g and doesn't connect to any server, plugins will not be loaded. That's good.

But the plugins list in the preference dialog will display all plugins as "unloaded" (the checkbox is not enabled) even if they are in the autoload list. It's a problem because a user could think that a plugin is not marked as autoload and so re-enable it. Thus this plugin will be in double in the autoload list.

Maybe if no session is started, we should check the box of each plugin if they are in the autoload list and not if they are currently loaded.

Another solution could be to make unsensitive the plugins list until a session is started. It would also solve problems with plugins that need a session to be properly loaded.
In fact, it's not logic than autoload plugins are loaded when the first session is started and than we can manually load a plugin without any session.

xchat-gnome is not under active development anymore.
Its codebase has been archived:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/Archive/xchat-gnome/commits/master

Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect
reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather reactivate the project
to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is deprecated) if anyone takes the
responsibility for active development again.
You may want to switch to Hexchat (or another IRC client that suits you).
