GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 342032
Add 'a' key functionality to download new messages in current group
Last modified: 2006-07-28 18:33:29 UTC
Request to reimplement this feature from 0.14.x. Currently the user has to right click the group and select "Get new headers in selected".
Yes, save my keyboard. Please bring back "a" to "Get new headers in selected." Keyboard shortcuts are important. I shouldn't need to use the mouse at all to use Pan, especially when the program is setup and all the groups that I use are subscribed to.
I'll add this here rather than new bug, along with the above, please add something for "get new headers in /subscribed/ groups", perhaps shift-a or ctrl-a. However ctrl-a is select-all on MSWindows, which pan supports, so that's not a good one (make it select-all-body?). Therefore, shift-a? Or customized keyboard accel mapping would solve all of these type bugs. =8^) In any case, how is an accel made visible to the user if there isn't a menu entry? Maybe an actions/groups/download submenu? Or put it in the tooltip?
Jim: done. Duncan: shift-a: done. The whole remapping accels deal is a different ticket, as you well know, since you filed the bug report. :) IMO there should never be a command that doesn't have a menu entry.
