GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 341103
bug buddy asks for the path of sendmail, which is a difficult question

http://www.xs4all.nl/%7Evanlonen/bug_buddy.png So when you want bug buddy to automatically send the report using sendmail, bug buddy asks you to give the path to sendmail. Now, I managed to figure out that sendmail was not installed by default on Ubuntu Dapper, so I installed it from the repositories and managed to find the path to it, /usr/sbin/sendmail (even though locate couldn't find it for me, and I was searching in /usr/bin instead of /usr/sbin). But will Linux newbies also be able to do that, finding the path of sendmail? I think not, and because bug buddy is exactly aimed at those who are not so technically skilled or don't want to visit a Bugzilla website, I think it would be a good idea to let bug buddy do some automatic searching for sendmail so that it will not be necessary to ask the user. Other information:
By the way, slightly off topic question: after I gave the path to sendmail, bug buddy said it had succesfully sent the bug report, but when I search Bugzilla now I can't find the bug report against F-Spot which bug buddy sent for me? Don't the bug reports bug buddy sends appear in Bugzilla?
did you query for UNCONFIRMED bugs too? bb reports are uncormirmed when imported.
I used this search: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/buglist.cgi?query_format=advanced&short_desc_type=allwordssubstr&short_desc=&classification=Other&product=f-spot&long_desc_type=substring&long_desc=&status_whiteboard_type=allwordssubstr&status_whiteboard=&keywords_type=allwords&keywords=&bug_status=UNCONFIRMED&bug_status=NEW&bug_status=ASSIGNED&bug_status=REOPENED&bug_status=NEEDINFO&bug_status=RESOLVED&bug_status=VERIFIED&bug_status=CLOSED&emailassigned_to1=1&emailtype1=substring&email1=&emailassigned_to2=1&emailreporter2=1&emailqa_contact2=1&emailcc2=1&emailtype2=substring&email2=&bugidtype=include&bug_id=&chfieldfrom=&chfieldto=Now&chfieldvalue=&cmdtype=doit&order=Reuse+same+sort+as+last+time&field0-0-0=%28unix_timestamp%28now%28%29%29+-+unix_timestamp%28bugs.creation_ts%29%29%2F86400&type0-0-0=lessthan&value0-0-0=2 I queried for bugs with every status, including unconfirmed, and filed less than 2 days ago (I sent it with bug buddy yesterday evening) I don't see my bug sent by bug buddy about the crash with F-Spot in the search results. Looks like bug buddy didn't send my bug report at all :(
It doesn't need sendmail anymore as of 2.15.0
