GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 341080
totem cannot play Ogg Theora videos anymore
Last modified: 2006-05-18 08:51:09 UTC
Please describe the problem: I use Fedora Core 5 and Thomas's gstreamer repository (http://thomas.apestaart.org/pkg/). Until a few weeks ago, I could play Ogg Theora videos just fine with totem, but a recent update seems to have broken that. Steps to reproduce: 1. wget http://www.v2v.cc/~j/theora_testsuite/320x240.ogg 2. totem 320x240.ogg or try to play any other Ogg Theora video. Actual results: Totem prints the following to stdout: (totem:4839): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_event_new_new_segment: assertion `start != -1' failed and a window pops up with the message: An error occurred Internal data flow error. Expected results: Totem plays the video. Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information: This is with Fedora Core 5 on an Pentium 4. The gstreamer packages are from http://thomas.apestaart.org/pkg/ and the versions are: gstreamer-0.10.5-0.gst.1.5 gstreamer-plugins-base-0.10.6-0.gst.1.5 gstreamer-plugins-good-0.10.3-0.gst.1.5 gstreamer-plugins-bad-0.10.3-0.gst.1.5 gstreamer-plugins-ugly-0.10.3-0.gst.1.5 totem-1.3.92-1 Totem still plays other file types (I tried mpeg, avi, mp3 and Ogg Vorbis).
plays perfectly fine for me...
the same versions, but on FC4, work fine for me. I'll test tomorrow on FC5. Could you please file debug log and a stack trace ?
I re-installed Fedora Core yesterday and now it works fine. I guess the old install was somehow broken. So I'll just close this as NOTABUG.
