Description Sebastien Bacher 2006-05-06 15:36:44 UTC
That bug has been opened on https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/evolution/+bug/42597

"1. go to Edit-->Preferences-->Mail Preferences-->HTML Mail
2. select "Load images in mail from contacts"
3. go to Contacts
4. create a new address book (mine is called "Lists")
5. add the address of someone that sends html mail with images (like mailings@mail.cnn.com) to the new address book.
6! open an email from that address. most images will not be displayed.

restarting evolution does not fix the problem. interestingly, images that have previously been cached do show up (like from a similar email), but not new images, so the behavior is different from 'do not show images'.

this was working in recent previous builds, i believe."

I've seen something similar in the sense that evo wouldn't show all images of the message because it's somehow stuck at downloading them. Restarting evo make it show the downloaded images & download the next image.

Downloading these images with wget didn't cause any trouble though.

Does the reporter see a similar behavior ?
Comment 2 Charles Bovy 2007-07-31 08:15:02 UTC
I'm seeing the same behavior. I'm using Ubuntu Gutsy (7.10) development release.
Evolution 2.11.5
GtkHTML 3.14

We've this in our bugzilla too, even with a test message.
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=398021

Can I ask someone to place here other test message? Say that one from cnn? Thanks in advance. (I will try to investigate on the one I already have, but I would really like to test on more than one message if possible).

for evolution-data-server;

I'm not sure why this was as it was, but this change helps. On the example message I see all the images except of the one at the bottom. That one is possibly the bad one which is not available anymore.
