nautilus smb share problem with space in folder name
Last modified: 2006-05-29 13:23:37 UTC
That bug has been opened on https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/gnome-system-tools/+bug/6665 "If you use samba, right-click on a folder witch name contains a space symbol. E.g. "Namenloser Ordner" und choose share folder and smb. Notice that only the part of the folders name before the first space is used. Three example folder in this picture with the smb share window: http://poweroftwo.de/ordnerteilen.jpg btw. the problem with spaces in the name is not only there when you try sharing your folder but opening others. In a network with Windows XP someone configured a share, and i was not able to see the folder in nautilus until i asked him to remove the space in the folders name. :-( regards, Sven ... "
I've been investigating, and it seems an ubuntu specific problem, I've been having a look at your gksudo + shares-admin nautilus extension patch, and it seems to be messing with quotation marks, try putting the path between apostrophes (') and it should work fine.
thank you for pointing that and sorry for the bugging you about something due to a distro patch
