GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 338871
Fullscreen toolbar stay on screen when switching workspace
Last modified: 2006-10-23 16:19:36 UTC
The fullscreen toolbar does not always disappear when you switch virtual desktop. Steps to reproduce: 1. Show a PDF file in full-screen 2. Switch desktop using keyboard shortcuts See screenshot below.

Here are some more precise steps to reproduce : 1. Show a PDF file in full-screen. 2. Focus another small window on the same workspace 3. Hover evince, so that the toolbar shows, without giving focus to evince 4. Hit shift+ctrl+arrow to switch workspace. The toolbar stays on screen, despite the current workspace has changed. The expected behaviour would obviously be to hide it in that case (maybe more generally when evince does not have focus)
Confirming. Setting severity to minor, as this is rather hard to stumble upon.
This can be fixed by moving the fullscreen toolbar into the main window, as in #338910.
A patch like that in bug 161225 would probably fix it without moving the toolbar.
Ubuntu bug about that: https://launchpad.net/products/evince/+bug/60850 "Full-screened evince toolbar stays on-top after alt-tab away Load up a PDF in Evince. Press 'F11' to full-screen. Press Alt-Tab to switch to another application(s). The Evince top toolbar menu stays ontop preventing the main GNOME menubar from being viewed: http://www.paul.sladen.org/ubuntu/bugs/fullscreen-evince-ontop.png Clicking "Leave Fullscreen" makes the bar then go away."
