Just saved a jpeg file and the new PDB code from mitch complained:

PDB calling error for procedure 'gimp-image-remove-layer':
Argument 'layer' (#2, type GimpLayerID) out of bounds (validation changed '0' to '-1')

I currently cannot really look into that but suspect that it is related to the preview code.
