GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 337257
Unread should be before total in Window title
Last modified: 2007-06-27 12:45:54 UTC
The number of unread mails is much more import than the total number of mails. Total number is actually not a really interesting number. Furthermore if there are many windows
Confirming. Where is that string generated? Probably Mailer. Also, see bug 337258.
should be fairly trivial.
Created attachment 62877 [details] [review] Swaps the unread/total strings, should work This should fix the bug :)

Patch seems good to me. Can one of the maintainers apply it?
Even after applying the patches, it seems to be the same title for me. I think some issuez there.
jaap, any comments to srini's comment?
I didn't write the patch. Alejandro did. Alejandro do you have any comments to srini's comment
jaap: uhm, yes, sorry :-) alejandro: ping
Also, the mailbox information should be before the name of the app, because you could then see the mailbox status on the window list even if there are many open windows and because that is the order most other apps follow. Like this "INBOX (1 unread, 2 total) - Evolution".
Oops, there is already bug 337258 about that. Sorry for the spam.
Alejandro: Any updates to this patch?
I guess Jaap means that label under send/receive buttons, while Alejandro's patch changes that one in folder properties dialog. Am i right, Jaap?
No I mean the general window title which you also see on the panel (taskbar)
I filed a simliar bug report with a working patch last month. http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=383953 It puts both the unread and the selected message count first, as well as the unread message count in the folder properties dialog (to be consistent). The patch is currently in Fedora Development ("Rawhide").
Because of committed Matthew's patch from bug #383953, this works for me. Or miss I something?
