Description Daniel Holbach 2006-04-03 17:48:33 UTC
Forwarded from: https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/gimp/+bug/35047

When you grab a screenshot using gimp's File -> Aqcuire -> Screen Shot, you get an image with different DPI settings in X and Y. There may be a good reason for this, but it causes problems when trying to import it to applications more focused on printing, like openoffice. The image then appears stretched.

It uses the screen resolution as set in preferences,
which are by default taken from the X server. If you
insist on xres==yres, you can either tell your X server
or simply configure it in GIMP's prefs.
