Description Sebastien Bacher 2006-04-01 13:47:15 UTC
That bug has been opened on https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/gnome-system-tools/+bug/36839

"The Disk Manager should allow the user to configure permissions so that they never have to edit the fstab manually. I personally always make the Fat32 partition read/write, but appreciate that this may not be a desirable default. I have to do this with a text editor (at a terminal because it requires sudo).

The 'Partitions' tab already has a graphical method to enable or disable the partition and perform various other tasks on the partitions. It also requires root (sudo) access. This seems the most appropriate place for graphical configuration of the fstab permission options to me."

Yep, I agree completely. What I find furthermore disturbing, ist the fact that NTFS-Partitions are mounted with "500" by default and therefore not accessible for users.

Mass closing of remaining disks-admin and boot-admin bugs, sorry for the spam. Both tools are bitrotting, and no development is likely to happen on them.
