GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 335153
nautilus identifies (encapsulated) postscript files as plaintext
Last modified: 2006-03-20 00:17:59 UTC
That bug has been opened on https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/35458 "Nautilus identifies eps or ps files as plain text when selecting them. Can (hopefully) be reproduced with ghostscript files for example: /usr/share/gs-esp/8.15/lib. Additional: It's ubuntu/dapper and also affects some PDF files. ... The file command correctly recognises them as application/postscript (tried on a file that demonstrates the problem in nautilus). ... http://librarian.launchpad.net/1784324/snowflak.ps This is the pseudorandom snowflake demo file, which gets type deduced wrongly. Don't be suprised that the document is different every time you load or print it - that is supposed to happen."
Thanks, I've committed a fix to shared-mime-info HEAD.
