GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 333853
Can't edit newly created VPN entry
Last modified: 2007-12-27 17:25:25 UTC
Upstreaming from https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=164715 After creating a new VPN entry in nm-applet, the entry can't be edited without closing and reopening the VPN Config screen. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): NetworkManager-vpnc-0.2-2 How reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a new VPN entry. 2. Select it for editing. 3. Actual results: Edit dialog box opens with all entries greyed out. Expected results: Edit dialog box should open and permit editing. Additional info: Closing and reopening the VPN Config window cures the problem.
Reported against 0.2 but I can confirm this in 0.6 as well.
Ah I confirm this with HEAD as of today, too. First inspection of the code and I see nothing, but that code is hairy.
I have looked also, and think I remember finding the problem sometime ago, but for some reason didn't fix it. Perhaps this will help shed some light: In fact one cannot edit any VPN connection (at least of the same type) after one has been newly created - ie. the behaviour is not related to the Connection was just created. Another new connection can be created however. If one creates another ew conection but hits the close button on the dialog when the edit properties dialog is shown, then one may once more use the edit button in the vpn-properties app to edit an existing connection.

Using the svn version in Fedora rawhide at least, it appears this bug is fixed, so marking as such NetworkManager-0.7.0-0.8.svn3181.fc9.x86_64
