Description Guillaume Desmottes 2006-02-19 17:12:25 UTC
Original report: https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/xchat-gnome/+bug/32002

When you add a user to the ignore list, there is no indication in the GUI that the user is being ignored. Also, there is no way to remove the user from the ignore list using the GUI.
Comment 1 Guillaume Desmottes 2006-07-27 19:25:48 UTC
Let's think about the best way to implement that.

There is the xchat's way: a "ignore list" dialog containing all ignored masks and a "remove" button.

But is it the best way to handle that?
What do you think about displaying a "ignore icon" (a red cross or something like that) in the user list and a "unignore" option in its context menu (or a checkbox)?

Any advice guys?

the problem here, if a user is not logged in, I would not know if she/he is in ignore list. I would prefer a new option, under "Network" ?, to allow me to edit ban/ignore/friend list. any advice for a better method ?

xchat-gnome is not under active development anymore.
Its codebase has been archived:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/Archive/xchat-gnome/commits/master

Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect
reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather reactivate the project
to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is deprecated) if anyone takes the
responsibility for active development again.
You may want to switch to Hexchat (or another IRC client that suits you).
