Description Rodd Clarkson 2006-02-17 00:18:36 UTC
Evince renders the following PDF incorrectly.

http://www.parkweb.vic.gov.au/resources/05_1413.pdf

(found on http://www.parkweb.vic.gov.au/1park_display.cfm?park=136)

xpdf seems to do a better job at rendering it on screen, but doesn't print it correctly (adding the same white areas as seen in evince when viewing on the screen).

Hi, this looks like a bug with the PDF backend. Could you please follow these instructions to help get this
 bug fixed. Thank You. http://live.gnome.org/Evince/PopplerBugs#poppler
Comment 2 Nickolay V. Shmyrev 2006-08-28 01:09:58 UTC
Works fine here with poppler cairo HEAD and evince HEAD.
Comment 3 Rodd Clarkson 2007-12-03 03:19:07 UTC
Right, I'm using:

[rodd@localhost ~]$ rpm -q poppler evince
poppler-0.6-2.fc8
evince-2.20.1-2.fc8

This is still not rendering correctly.

Also, the following URL's have the same problem with the PDF's there.

http://www.dragonsfoot.org/php4/archive.php?sectioninit=AD&fileid=152&watchfile=0
http://www.dragonsfoot.org/php4/archive.php?sectioninit=AD&fileid=162&watchfile=0

These all render fine in xpdf (as a comparison)

Also, attempts to view a print preview using the print preview button in the print dialog result either in errors (unhanded MIME type: "text/plain")[1] or no error, but a zero page document[2].

[1] in the case of the two more recent URLs
[2] in the case of the original file.
Comment 5 Carlos Garcia Campos 2007-12-03 19:39:01 UTC
what cairo version do you have?
Comment 6 Rodd Clarkson 2007-12-03 20:16:23 UTC
[rodd@localhost ~]$ rpm -q cairo
cairo-1.4.10-2.fc8
Comment 7 Carlos Garcia Campos 2007-12-03 20:52:14 UTC
It's a cairo issue. It has been recently fixed:

If the bug has been fixed (sorry but I'm not on my GNOME box, so I cannot confirm it), how about closing it?

Thanks,

Pablo
