Description Rajeev R 2006-02-16 14:39:05 UTC
Steps to reproduce the problem:
In Appointment , task or memo editor,
    1.Drag and drop any attachments
2.Drop it in any text entries,
Actual results:
It adds the uri of the attachment file in the text entry (in description, summary, etc) instead of adding the atachment as file

Expected Results:
Wherever i DnD an attachment inside the editor, it should be added as attachment

Other Information:
Mail Composer does this well, wherever an attachment is dropped it is added as attachment file

I'm working on this :-)
Comment 2 André Klapper 2006-02-16 16:12:45 UTC
mail composer does this only well when it's drag and drop *inside* of evolution. it fails e.g. when importing dragging images from nautilus or a web browser page and dropping them on evolution, if i remember correctly. (search for dnd/drag and drop on bugzilla)
just for your interest :-)

Bumping version to a stable release.
Comment 4 Milan Crha 2008-04-18 16:26:42 UTC
From my point of view WontFix. It works fine, really. It's better to be able to paste URIs into text fields. If you place anywhere else then it will be attached as expected. Maybe it didn't work in time you entered this bug, but now it works. Same as Andre's note, it works now too.

Further more, if I drop the link over the Subject or other Entry in composer, then I got the URI test too, so it's absolutely fine from my point of view. (Or a regression of composer rewrite?) :)

Agree with Milan. Dropping this.
Comment 6 Sebastien Bacher 2009-04-17 10:28:50 UTC
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/249994 has a similar issue with images, should a new bug be opened about that?
