Forwarded from: https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/gthumb/+bug/24010

Ubuntu 5.10/AMD64:
After connecting my digicam (Sony DSC P93A PTP mode), the "would like to import photos" dialog appears. Then I click "import photos". Then it says "Lade Kameratreiber" ("Loading camera drivers") and then it crashes. bug-buddy does not work, i.e. it takes endless time and gathers no stack trace.

This already worked perfectly without crashes with Ubuntu 5.04!

Suggested patch: http://librarian.launchpad.net/1559843/05_gth_browser_NULL_paths.dpatch

(Thanks to Martin Pitt for figuring it out).
