While importing a file there should be also an option of importing it as a memo.

Currently attempting to migrate from Outlook to Evolution, and related to this, I would like to say it would also would be nice would be if a user could drag and drop an ASCII text file into the "Memo" folder, and have it be automatically converted into a memo. Even nicer if the user could drag and drop many text files + subdirectories (which is the format I have managed to get my Outlook Notes into, using the GPL'ed "OutPort" program), into the "Memo" folder, and have them automatically be converted into a series of memos + folders.

is someone looking into this? Evo 2.28.1 on Ubuntu Karmic and 2.28.3 on Lucid do not have the option to import files as memos (see: printscreen above). thanks.
Comment 6 André Klapper 2021-05-19 11:31:33 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new enhancement request ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
