Description Joachim Noreiko 2006-02-06 14:09:56 UTC
The user guide section on Mouse Skills is missing images of the following types of pointer:

* text entry I-beam mouse pointer
* busy in the background pointer
* the main busy pointer
* the pointer for moving a window by dragging the title bar. On my system that's a sort of '+'
* hyperlink pointer
* Move panel object pointer (appears when you drag a panel object). We have an image, but it doesn't match what I see on my system, a hand but without the index finger of the hyperlink pointer.

My descriptions might be inaccurate as I'm using the Human pointer theme that comes with Ubuntu.
Comment 1 Brent Smith (smitten) 2006-03-11 17:26:02 UTC
The move panel object pointer looks the same as what's in the user-guide to me.

I don't know how to generate the 'busy in the background' pointer.

I think we should put a note that the cursor images may change according to the cursor theme.

Joachim: can you do the content for this?

The move panel object pointer is correct for the default GNOME theme.

I've updated the content & added the note you suggest. Thanks for the images :)

Leaving open for the 'busy in the background' pointer.
Comment 3 Joachim Noreiko 2006-03-13 10:23:50 UTC
It seems GNOME's default theme has no 'busy in the background' pointer: Bug 122728.
I think we can close as fixed, since we've covered all those that exist.
