GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 329440
Incorrect Description of confirm_trash in config editor
Last modified: 2007-07-23 21:29:21 UTC
Please describe the problem: the confirm_trash option in Gnome's configuration editor under Apps-Nautilus-Preferences, only confirms when the trash is emptied (or I believe when a file is *deleted*, not when items are moved to the trash, however, the description is as follows: "If set to true, then Nautilus will ask for confirmation when you attempt to put files in the trash. " The description should be changed to: "If set to true, then Nautilus will ask for confirmation when you attempt to empty the trash, or delete a file." Steps to reproduce: 1. Go to configuration editor, and go to section: Apps-Nautilus-Preferences 2. Click on confirm trash. Actual results: The long and short descriptions are inaccurate. Expected results: I would expect a description similar to what is in the actual preferences section in Nautilus. Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information:
Should be pretty easy to fix the description. See bug 149966 for the correct usage if someone wants to update it.
Created attachment 58523 [details] [review] A patch to fix the description of trash_confirm in Gconf-Editor
The above patch has an incorrect path, will fix soon.
Created attachment 58525 [details] [review] Fixed patch for confirm_trash description OK, here it is. I think the paths are correct, however, the date/time for the original file is not correct. Sorry, first time doing this.
Comment on attachment 58525 [details] [review] Fixed patch for confirm_trash description Are the commas proper? I have no idea (no native speaker), but they looks somewhat out of place. Also we should probably capitalize Trash and always refer to "the Trash" like the UI does.
i would remove the commas and try to get this in for 2.17. :-)
fixed in trunk: http://svn.gnome.org/viewcvs/nautilus/trunk/libnautilus-private/apps_nautilus_preferences.schemas.in?r1=12928&r2=13014 i capitalized "Trash" and kept the commas.
