GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 328361
support for "Fifth Sunday *of the month*"
Last modified: 2009-07-31 12:21:09 UTC
It is normal to schedule special events for the fifth Sunday during the year for churchs. To accomplish this with Evolution I enter a bogus event, shut down the data server, modify the event to have the right repeat rule, and then restart Evolution. It would be much easier to enter such events if the GUI supported all the repeating weeks instead of just the first four. Other information:
right, confirming.
Sorry about the confussion, I should have been more clear. The "Fifth Sunday" or Sundays I'm talking about are in each month. In 2006 there is Jan 29, Apr 30, Jul 30, Oct 29, and Dec 31. I run the sound at church during those Sundays. Here's the repeat rule. RRULE:FREQ=MONTHLY;INTERVAL=1;BYDAY=SU;BYSETPOS=5 The GUI doesn't allow BYSETPOS to be set to 5, which is valid for all of the days of the week depending on which day of the week that the month starts on. For instance, if you look at April 2007 there are a fifth Sunday and a fifth Monday. In May 2007 there are fifth Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. I can't imagine a use for any other "Fifth" besides Sundays, but who knows. If "Fifth" could be added to the drop down list all would be well.
ah, got it. and running the sound sounds pretty cool. :-) yepp, value should be added to calendar/gui/dialogs/recurrence-page.c.
Bumping version to a stable release.
Created attachment 129781 [details] [review] Add option for "fifth [someday] of the month" Bug is rather old but still in trunk - and very easy to fix (if I didn't overlook anything) :-)
Patch looks good and works the same, thanks for it.
