Description Martin Stjernholm 2006-01-22 09:03:42 UTC
When I choose to view the "Image Comment" pane in the Image Viewer, the pane
appears at the bottom of the window, which reduces the vertical height that is
available for the image. If I now open an image which is more high than wide
(typically a scanned paper) with the zoom set to "Fit", I get a very small image
surrounded by lots of unused screen area. In cases like this it would be a lot
better to have the image data/comment pane along one of the vertical edges instead.

Also, the image properties almost always require more space vertically than
horizontally (at least for images with EXIF info), so that pane would also
benefit from a vertical layout.

I therefore suggest that an option is added to make it possible to change to a
vertical layout for the image info/comment pane in the Image Viewer.
