Please describe the problem:
In the 'Accounts' the balance of each Assett, Liability etc. is shown but when a
report is selected the values are all zeros 

Steps to reproduce:
1. select saved file
2. account values shown are OK 
3. select any report - zero amounts shown


Actual results:
zero amounts shown in all reports

Expected results:
amounts shown in accounts to be on the reports

Does this happen every time?

What is your exact version of gnucash? Also, did you check the currency settings -- you might have chosen a "report currency" that is different from your account's currency, in which case the numbers in the report's currency are correctly zero.

Thanks Christian - you got it right! The currency  was changed from my selected currency CAD to USD default. I have been using Gnucash for six months OK then when I tried to do a 'Year End" (I could find no mention of Y/E in the manual) and obviously I altered the currency somehow - not by choice, I can assure you!
Is there a mention of Year End anywhere?
