GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 327005
gstreamer-universe doesn't install on x86-64 systems
Last modified: 2006-04-01 10:40:14 UTC
Attempting to install gstreamer-universe on my system (Fedora Core 4 with all updates) produces the following error messages: 'Missing Dependency: pitivi >= 0.0.1 is needed by package gstreamer-universe', 'Missing Dependency: gstreamer-python >= 0.8.2 is needed by package gstreamer-universe', 'Missing Dependency: gstreamer-plugins-devel >= 0.8.11 is needed by package gstreamer-universe', 'Missing Dependency: gstreamer-plugins-audio >= 0.8.11 is needed by package gstreamer-universe', 'Missing Dependency: gstreamer-devel >= 0.8.11 is needed by package gstreamer-universe', 'Missing Dependency: gstreamer-monkeysaudio >= 0.8.0 is needed by package gstreamer-universe', 'Missing Dependency: gstreamer-plugins-video >= 0.8.11 is needed by package gstreamer-universe', 'Missing Dependency: gstreamer-editor >= %_gstreamer_editor is needed by package gstreamer-universe' Pitivi doesn't seem to be available as an rpm for FC4 anywhere on the web. An attempt to build it from source fails with this message: configure: error: Library requirements (gstreamer-0.10 >= 0.10.0) not met Since I am attempting to install gst-10, this looks perplexing. Other requirements, in particular "gstreamer-devel >= 0.8.11" don't seem to be available from the repository located under http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/pkg/fedora/4/x86_64/yum/
I have built the following packages on my x86-64 system, which has got me what I want. gstreamer-0.8.11-0.gst.1.4.src.rpm gstreamer-plugins-0.8.11-0.gst.1.4.src.rpm gstreamer-plugins-extra-0.8.11-0.gst.1.4.src.rpm However, libmms-0.1-0.gst.1.x86_64.rpm and libmms-0.1-0.gst.1.src.rpm are not available in amy of the usual places.
the x86_64 repo is still being put together, give me some time :) I haven't even announced it yet. Are you sure you didn't find a libmms src.rpm in the 386 tree ?
Sorry to be pushy; I assumed that you had announced the x86-64 repo, but that through some oversight it wasn't populated. I find the gstreamer site a little confusing. I'm pretty sure that libmms wasn't in the 386 tree. I downloaded it (I think) from your personal web site. BTW: Are you upgrading to libmms-0.2 ? Also is anyone working on a plugin for .mpc files? There is one for xmms.
Ping? Any change here?
(In reply to comment #4) > Ping? Any change here? I am about to install FC5, and will attempt to install gstreamer-universe as soon as FC5 is in.
this has been fixed by now, closing.
