GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 326508
Include preview of the site in tooltip
Last modified: 2016-09-28 16:20:35 UTC
When browsing the bookmarks either from the menu or the dialog, the user could be preseneted with a thumbnail of the site, cached either from the last visit, or rendered on teh fly (this will take a little longer obviously). One problem with this is the content type will have to be checked to see that it is html/xhtml not an image of video. Anyway, I think this would be pretty useful for users.
Created attachment 70693 [details] Galeon code for thumbnailing websites I found this code somewhere in the Epiphany wiki, I made it work some weeks ago but I haven't been able to do it again, last time it worked it made weird thumbnails with the image cutted and shaked. Weird. If anyone can help me get this working I would be glad to hack it inside Ephy.
We'd probably use the code from gnome-web-photo for this.
Just noted that you wrote it. I'll have a look at it, I don't know how I missed your last comment.
Marking NEW.

Don't think we want this anymore.
