GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 325781
Tutorials for writing scripts
Last modified: 2011-02-07 06:03:39 UTC
It'd be a good idea to have tutorials for writing dogtail scripts, in addition to our examples. Maybe even take one of the existing examples, and create a document describing how to write it oneself, line by line?
Created attachment 57584 [details] Basic Tutorial on scripting using dogtail. Attaching the initial document on dogtail.
If you are interested, the Fedora Documentation Project can support and host dogtail documentation. We are using a DocBook XML toolchain that is very mature and have an active contributor community to peer review, help edit/write, etc. http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/DocsProject/NewWriters http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/DocsProject/WhyJoin We can help convert the document from HTML to XML, to be a single source document. Then it can be made available to developers to help with technical edits, and peer reviewers or an assigned grammar/style editor. If you are interested, please join fedora-docs-list and bring your idea to the list for work. http://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-docs-list/
dogtail development has been stalled and it has been unmaintained for a few years now. Maintainers don't have future development plan so i am closing bugs as WONTFIX. Please feel free to reopen the bugs in future if anyone takes the responsibility for active development.
