Description Matej Horváth 2006-01-02 07:34:14 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Can't add and use more than 4 keyboard layouts. If I add them with gconf-editor
(/desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd/layouts), I can see them in Keyboard
Indicator, but I can still use only 4, the lowest in the list is not used.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Right click on Keyboard Indicator in Gnome Panel and choose "Open Keyboard
Preferences"
2. In the opened window choose "Layouts" tab
3. Add 4 keyboard layouts by clicking "Add" button

Actual results:
"Add" button will get "unclickable" and it's impossible to add more keyboard
layouts.

Expected results:
I can add more than 4 keyboard layouts.

Does this happen every time?
yes

Other information:
I'm using these keyboard layouts: us, sk_qwerty, cz_qwerty, es, de

Is this restriction planned to be fixed?

If I had to file a bug report about it on bugs.fd.o, which component should I file it against?

Thanks.
Comment 4 Sergey V. Udaltsov 2007-09-23 07:15:43 UTC
GNOME cannot fix it. But new version of XKB is under works on fd.o. So we'll see if it addresses that restriction.. There is no need to file a bug on fd.o. The problem is that your request would require _incompatible_ change in the protocol. So no promises made.
