GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 325327
Default location translator comments are obsolete, mistakes in translations
Last modified: 2010-01-24 01:07:43 UTC
Please describe the problem: GWeather has a default location that can be setup for each language. To specify this default location, certain fields need to be completed by the translators. The translator comments for these fields are obsolete, leading to several usability issues and in some cases having the gweather applet crashing. The patch 1. adds updated translator comments 2. adds support for translator comments for DEFAULT_COORDINATES Steps to reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
Created attachment 56562 [details] [review] Updated translator comments for the default location in gweather. Updates the translation comments and also changes DEFAULT_COORDINATES in synch to the other DEFAULT_ variables.
This only serves as a reminder of how we need to improve this setup, to make it seriously less confusing for translators. Put it into HEAD. Thanks.
Patch applied into HEAD. http://cvs.gnome.org/viewcvs/gnome-applets/libgweather/gweather-gconf.c?r1=1.2&r2=1.3 Ideally, the translator should only have to specify DEFAULT_CODE (4-letter location code) and the rest should be retrieved from the existing database. Once the stats page get updated (therefore po-locations are updated), I'll post to gnome-i18n for translators to fix these. Closing bug.
