Description Crispin Flowerday (not receiving bugmail) 2005-12-22 22:18:01 UTC
When a developer reports a bug for their own product, it would be nice if bugzilla made the initial state NEW rather than UNCONFIRMED.

Often a developer reports something if they haven't got time to fix it straight away, and this can often be a very short report that someone triaging might mark as NEEDINFO thinking there wasn't enough info in the report.

See also bug 324852 (which I just filed); it's a separate feature but it would also serve to help triagers avoid mismarking bugs (among other things) so it may also assist in solving the motivation behind the request.
