Description Sebastien Bacher 2005-12-10 12:17:50 UTC
This bug has been opened here: http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=20788

"If a program fails to start to to an error (A missing library perhaps), GNOME
will not let the user know that the program has failed to start. The "loading"
seqeunce will just continue to run. A smarter approach to this would be to
probe for stderr and notify the user of the problem. Maybe something like this:

Error
The program failed to start properly.
Details >
Library libfoobar.2.0.so.1 could not be found.

Also: Gnome properly notifies the user if a binary cannot be found. Something
similar should happen for other errors."
