GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 323288
Nautilus changes language from localised to English after viewing file properties
Last modified: 2005-12-31 10:38:19 UTC
Please describe the problem: Everytime I open multimedia file properties (AVI, MP3, etc.), Nautilus changes its language from French to English. This problem occurs only if "totem-xine is installed. With "totem-gstreamer" everything works fine. You can also look at this bug report : http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=18665 I use Gentoo, this bug seems not to be distribution specific. And according to the Ubuntu report, the bug is not locale specific too. Steps to reproduce: 1. Make sure totem-xine is installed and not using English locale 2. Open Audio/Video properties of a MP3, AVI, etc file 3. Nautilus changes language from localised to English Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
According to Totem 1.2.1 changelog, « Fix possible i18n problems with the Nautilus properties window and the Mozilla plugin », the problem seems to be resolved. But, in fact, the problem isn't fixed. Maybe, change Product to Totem is better. http://cvs.gnome.org/viewcvs/totem/NEWS?rev=1.85.2.3&only_with_tag=V_1_2_1&view=markup
