Description Dominique Würtz 2005-11-02 17:38:28 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Preference dialogs with lots of checkboxes often mix affirmative and negative
labels.
Ex.:
[ ] Make a backup on saving
[ ] don't show splash screen on startup

This confuses the user and misleads him to accidently choose the wrong check
state if he doesn't read very carefully.

Steps to reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actual results:

Expected results:

Does this happen every time?

Other information:
Solution: Guideline for checkboxes "Always use affirmative phrases as checkbox
labels"
(could be that it is already in the hig as a general rule but I think it's worth
repeating since it seems to be a common mistake)
