GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 320504
Cannot select several contacts simultaneously using SHIFT key, when composing new message
Last modified: 2005-11-02 15:18:02 UTC
Please describe the problem: In past versions, I could use the SHIFT key to select several contacts at once and add them to To: or Bcc: fields, in the pop-up dialog window that appears when one clicks on To: button (2.0.4 worked like this). Now I have to select each address at once, which is very frustrating because frequently I need to send messages to a pool of dozens of contacts in my "Friends" address book and I always need to leave several of them out, according to the message content. What I did previously was to select all contacts with SHIFT and then use CTRL to take out the ones I didn't want to send the message. The use of SHIFT and CTRL keys to do multiple selections in selectors is a must have for any aplication to make it more usable. Steps to reproduce: 1. Compose a new message 2. Press To: button 3. Select first contact and while pressing SHIFT select last contact 4. Press CTRL and select a contact in the middle of the list Actual results: After step 3. Last contact is selected alone After step 4. Contact in the middle is selected alone Expected results: After step 3. All contacts in the list should be selected After step 4. contact in the middle should be unselected while the remaining ones keep selected Does this happen every time? Yes Other information:
