I'm switching between two different sinks - one is ALSA and the other one is
custom esdsink with 'host' parameter. When I switch to ALSA, my custom pipeline
field gets overwritten with "alsasink".

It would be cool, if this pipeline had some kind of history, recent values.
Probably, it could work as autocomplete textbox or editable dropdown?

In the past, gnome-entry had a history saving functionality. I wonder how it should be done today: GtkComboBoxEntry + KeyFile?

gnome-media has been obsolete since the release of GNOME 3, nearly 4 years ago. Please file a bug against the applications themselves if the bugs you filed were relevant to particular features.
