I've changed the status icon to activate on single click now. Not sure we really want to add scrolling.
Mouse scrolling over the icon is something I sorely miss (I'm using it in egg to adjust volume in my music player). I also really miss the ability to determine if the mouse is over the icon in order to implement my own window (with album art, progress bar, etc) instead of a tooltip. I can file a separate file enhancement if need be, but I think more and more applications will find the current available signals limiting in their migration from gnome-python-extra's egg.
