GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 318758
mark-all-message-as-read menu option has no hotkey, and menu option is entertainingly difficult to reach
Last modified: 2006-01-25 17:36:19 UTC
This bug has been opened here: https://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17610 "So, apart from the annoyance that evo has rearranged the hotkeys -- obviously to keep the users on their toes -- the menus have also been rearranged, so that now "Mark all messages as read" has moved to the Folder menu. First annoyance: there is no hotkey to call this menu item. This bug could be solved if this was rectified. Second annoyance: To reach the menu item, I used to type "Alt-E R" to choose Edit->Mark all as _R_ead. Now it's "Alt-o s s Enter" because for some unknown reason, the developers have chosen to use the SAME activation letter for both _S_ubscriptions and Mark all Me_s_sages as Read. Surely this can't be deliberate. But it wouldn't be an issue at all if the first annoyance didn't exist. So, to resolve this bug, I'd like a hotkey. If that's not possible, I can grumpily live with a three-stroke combination. Thanks."
it was not obviusly deliberate. Kinda missed out and messed up stuff during the Menu re-org. Shall be fixed asap. Thanks.
Alt+O+K Folder->Mark All Messages as read will solve it. Seb, as you may be aware, evo had so many accels and it went short of accels. Now we have almost rewritten the shortcut preferences and I would not really give more priority to this particular menu item for a shorcut. The "Alt-o s s Enter" issue is solved. Im closing this as resolved. Please reopen, if you have some points to add.
That's fine with me, thank you
