This is an old bug report remaining in the Debian BTS. 

It probably was fixed already but I'm hereby polling the upstream authors to
verify. If it's fixed, I will close the corresponding bugs in the Debian BTS.

I'm not completely happy with the way it fixes this bug, but anyway it works. The next time it would show up is in 2019, so by the time maybe we will have re-written the whole thing ;-).

This has been corrected (in v0.14.2).
